Laitiam is a village that is not only rich in culture and history but also offers a wide range of activities and beautiful vistas. In this village, a sacred grove with a long history and a variety of legends about the local gods and plants is located within it. A living root bridge connects Laitiam to Sohbar which served as a means of transportation for the villagers in the past. There are various sites in the village used for religious activities, which are rather fascinating to learn about because the village has its own distinctive religious customs.
Apart from this, the community also supplies cane to neighbouring communities for use in the production of furniture and handicrafts. Due to this, a small number of the villagers are also engaged in handicraft production and are fairly adept at using traditional methods to create these products.
