Suki Suki: Women’s Wellness Retreat

Suki Suki: Women’s Wellness Retreat

7-10 November, 2024

Sa-I-Mika Park, Sohra

Suki Suki is a four-day women’s wellness retreat that will be held from November 7-10, 2024, in the serene landscape of Sohra, Meghalaya. Designed by women, for women, this retreat centres around four core pillars: nutrition, mindset, environment, and presence. It offers an immersive journey into holistic well-being, aiming to balance movement, rest, and healing through diverse practices such as somatic release, breath work, sound healing, and women’s healing circles.

Each day will be themed to guide participants through a deep inner exploration, using the healing arts as tools for transformation. The retreat emphasizes a connection with the five elements of nature — earth, water, fire, air, and ether — bringing them into harmony with the mind, body, and soul. Participants will experience nature’s rejuvenating power while being supported by like-minded women in an environment that nurtures vulnerability and growth.

Suki Suki aspires to create a safe space for women to reconnect with themselves and find balance, inner peace, and renewed energy. Whether seeking a personal reset or deeper spiritual connection, this retreat offers a unique opportunity for transformative healing and self-discovery

The retreat will entail a holistic experience of movement, rest, somatic release, breathwork, sound healing, and women’s healing circles over four days. Each day will be guided by a specific theme and centre around various elements of nature in correspondence to the activities.

Day 1: Upon arrival, there shall be an opening ceremony within sound, bath, and sharing circle.

Day 2: This day focuses on the earth element. The key experiences are a nature walk, tea ceremony, yin yoga, sound, bath, and soul food exploration.

Day 3: The day of Air and fire! Exploring womb meditation and enjoyable excursions around caves and the Living Roots Bridge shall be executed on this day. Be prepared to enjoy a bonfire and collective singing!

Day 4: Water and ether will make this a fluid day of movement and connection. A visit to the waterfall, elemental dance flow, “nada nidra,” and drum circle with fire ceremony will close this day.

While the roads to Sohra are in good condition, providing a smooth drive, public transportation is available in shared taxis and buses from Shillong to Sohra. For those using public transport, reaching the resort from the town of Sohra would likely require a private taxi or a short hike. It’s ideal for travelers with personal vehicles, but once in Sohra, local transportation makes the resort relatively easy to access. The resort is spread across a large open area, making it ideal for nature walks and exploring the local flora and fauna. However, due to the hilly terrain and uneven paths, it might be less accessible for visitors with mobility challenges. The resort is an excellent spot for those looking to experience the tranquillity of Meghalaya’s landscape while being close to the main attractions of Sohra, such as the Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, and Mawsmai Caves.
