“A lesser-known gem where unique aerial roots, strengthened by natural and reinforced elements, form a stunning living root bridge amid orange groves and waterfalls.”

The Padu Bridge, approximately 10 km from Amlarem, is one of Meghalaya’s most beautiful yet lesser-known living root bridges. Its unusual aerial roots appear supported by reinforced components, and a concrete column on the right side further contributes to its remarkable structure. The village surrounding it is adorned with orange groves and waterfalls, adding to its scenic allure.

Guided visits available via Costlymore P. Hayong or the Kudengrim Tourism Office at Nongbareh, Lyntiar.

Located in East Jaintia Hills—about 208 km from Guwahati Airport, 103 km from Shillong Airport, and 98 km from Shillong.
