The Don Bosco Museum in Shillong, India, is a cultural and educational institution that highlights the region’s rich history and art. It was founded in 2002 by the Salesian Missionaries and is named after St. John Bosco, a great Italian priest noted for his work with children. Exhibits at the museum focus on the social, cultural, and economic elements of life in Northeast India, such as traditional crafts, music, and dance.
Shillong Peak is the highest point in the northeast Indian state of Meghalaya. It is a renowned tourist site in the East Khasi Hills, recognized for its picturesque splendour and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The summit, which is 1965 meters (6450 feet) above sea level, is a famous trekking and hiking destination. The two-hour hike to the peak’s summit provides breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
The Elephant Falls in Shillong, India, is a picturesque waterfall in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills. The elephant-shaped rock formations near the falls inspired the name of these falls which are located 12 kilometres from Shillong and are a popular tourist attraction known for its beauty and tranquil surroundings. The falls are surrounded by beautiful green trees and undulating hills that drop from a height of roughly 30 meters.
The Laitlum Canyons in Shillong, India, are a beautiful natural marvel found in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills. It consists of a succession of steep-sided valleys and gorges created over time by the erosion of soft rock. The canyons provide breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, which includes undulating hills and dense green woods. The region is well-known for its beauty and is a popular tourist and local destination.
